Padi and Masoud’s destination wedding was 10 years in the making and more than worth the wait. When the time came for them to tie the knot they decided on Olowalu Plantation House in beautiful Maui, Hawaii. The ceremony was a traditional Persian ritual and took place under lush palm trees just steps from the famously pure Hawaiian water.
The couple chose a bright color palate to reflect their tropical venue. Vivid oranges and vibrant pinks added splashes of color to the décor and helped Padi’s bridesmaids show off their beautiful tans. The bridesmaids held bright orange parasols which paired beautifully with their cheerful pink dresses. Padi’s dress also added romance to the affair with a tight fit and detailed gathering and ruffles.
The guests were also provided comfort from the bright Hawaiian sunshine with the help of parasols and fans. The traditional Persian ceremony took place beneath the cover of silk lace fabric held by the bride’s close relatives. They committed themselves to each other for life while being sprinkled with sugar flakes.
The couple was seated in front of a spread of symbolic items such as a mirror representing the couple’s bright future, different spices to get rid of “evil eye”, eggs representing fertility, sugar and honey to sweeten the life of the newlyweds and family heirlooms. It’s clear that this wedding was all about the details.
The reception took place on the plantation grounds overlooking the sea. The tables were arranged under beautiful white linen canopies and hanging lanterns. Orange and pink flower centerpieces were stunning against the turquoise ocean backdrop.
The wedding party celebrated late into the evening, but weren’t too worn out to give the newlyweds a proper send-off. Padi and Masoud’s long awaited wedding ended much as their relationship began—with sparks.
